Short answers about Summit Tennis coaching for children across Sussex. Anything else, just ask.
What age can my child start tennis?
From walking age. Tennis Tots is for walking age to about 5, Tennis Titans for about 4 to 9, and Tennis Troopers for about 8 to 13. Coaches can move a child up or down a group when they are ready.
How much do the sessions cost?
Tennis Tots is £10.50 a session, Tennis Titans £10.75 and Tennis Troopers £11.50. Brothers and sisters on the same account pay the sibling rate: £7.50 (Tots), £8.90 (Titans) or £9.20 (Troopers). Sessions are charged per term by direct debit, pro-rata if you join mid-term.
Can we try it before signing up?
Yes. Every child gets two free trial sessions before you sign up. Book them on the page for the session you want.
Where are the sessions?
Across Sussex, including Burgess Hill, Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint, Crawley, Horsham, Brighton and Hove, Lewes and Newick. See all venues and times on the Venues and sessions page.
Are sessions inside or outside?
It depends on the venue and the time of year. Each session page says where it runs in winter and in summer, and the Calendar page shows this week's locations and any changes.
What happens if it rains or a session is cancelled?
If we have to cancel a session, for example because of bad weather, it is credited to your next term. We let you know as early as we can.
What should my child wear and bring?
We provide rackets, balls and all the equipment. Children should wear comfortable, sporty clothes and trainers, dressed for the weather if their session is outside. They are welcome to bring their own racket if they have one.
Do parents need to stay?
For Tennis Tots a grown-up joins in with the session. For Tennis Titans we like parents to stay and help feed balls. For Tennis Troopers it is up to you: stay and watch or help, or drop off and collect.
What if we miss a session?
Missed sessions are not refunded, but where there is space we can offer a catch-up at another session.
Can we cancel?
Yes, you can cancel at any time and you will not be charged for future terms. A term that has already been paid is not refunded.
Do you run holiday camps and 1-to-1 lessons?
