🎾 Wall Rally – Indoor Tennis Activity Sheet

A brilliant indoor skill-builder where every child finds a wall space and works through a series of fun challenges to develop touch, control, timing and rally rhythm.

🧩 Setup

β€’ Each child finds a safe, clear section of wall
β€’ 1 ball per player (start with football or large soft ball)
β€’ 1 racket per player (used later in the activity)
β€’ Ensure clear space behind and to the side of each child

⭐ Warm-Up Phase (No Racket)

1️⃣ Roll & Stop – 1 minute

β€’ Roll the football along the floor into the wall
β€’ Ball rolls back β†’ child stops it with two hands
β€’ Focus: soft hands, ready position, bending knees

2️⃣ Toss–Bounce–Catch – 1 minute

β€’ Toss the ball gently against the wall
β€’ Let it bounce once on the floor
β€’ Catch with two hands
β€’ Focus: timing, judging bounce, hand–eye coordination

🎾 Racket Phase

3️⃣ Push Control (Racket Only)

β€’ Start with ball on the ground
β€’ Gently push or β€œnudge” the ball into the wall
β€’ Let it come back β†’ use 1–2 control touches before pushing again
β€’ Goal: control + accuracy, not power

4️⃣ Groundstroke Rally (Bounce Hit)

β€’ Hit ball into the wall β†’ let it bounce β†’ hit again
β€’ Optional: allow 1–2 control bounces/taps between each hit
β€’ Goal: rally to 10 hits
